May is a significant month for the entire MS community, both here in Australia and around the globe. With World MS Day on May 30, we have a month of important activities ahead.
Our major annual fundraising event for MS research is underway – The May 50K – and it’s off to a terrific start with almost 30,000 Australians registered to take part and over $3 million received in donations so far. There’s still time to sign up or sponsor a participant and help us leave MS where it belongs, behind us! To find out more information about The May 50K, click here.
We have also worked closely with the MS community to develop a new animation: Connecting with Family and Friends. This reflects the global World MS Day 2021 theme of ‘Connections’, which aims to challenge social barriers that can leave people living with MS feeling lonely and isolated.
Additionally on May 25, MS Australia will be hosting a Parliamentary Friends of MS event, which will spotlight the latest research and advocacy developments, live-streamed from Parliament House, Canberra. The event will be addressed by the people living with MS, Members of Parliament and leading MS researchers, as well as our MS Australia President, Associate Professor Des Graham. Finally, an enormous thank you to all who are supporting our fundraising efforts – your support is critical to driving the great advances achieved through research.
