MS Australia’s submission to the House of Representatives Inquiry into unpaid carers draws on input from our Member Organisations and highlights the essential role of unpaid carers, particularly for people with MS. The submission recommends amendments to the Carer Recognition Act 2010 to enhance support and recognition, including clearer definitions, improved accessibility to self-care services, and flexible workplace provisions. It also proposes introducing a Carers’ Income Tax Offset and superannuation contributions for carers receiving the Carer Payment.
